Below, I have featured many sites that allow you to customize or design your own shoes. For each of these sites I typically give: a brief review; the price range; the number of styles you can choose from; the different features for designing; and previews of their designing platforms via thumbnails. Milk & Honey is a rising champion in women’s shoe fashion. Created out of the dreams and passions of two sisters, Milk & Honey pleasantly helps you design the perfect shoe. Start your creation with either heels, sandals, flats, wedges, or booties. From there, you’ll have a lot of options with the toes, backs, straps, heels, and accessories. The really fun part is deciding on the material and the colors of your shoes. They have over 15 types of material ranging from leather to snakeskin to the popular pony hair, and then many colors and patterns within those materials. Milk & Honey has a great customer service program to help you out with any questions you may have along the way. Prices range from around $200-$300. Nike is everywhere and will always be popular. They were one of the pioneering companies that began the whole custom-shoe craze, and it makes sense that their NikeID site is so awesome. Once you get there, choose between a large number (I got tired counting them all) of athletic shoes to customize. There are tons of details you can customize including: colors, materials, text, width, and more. My brother recently made a pair of Nike Dunks and he gets compliments daily. Atelier Shoes lets you choose between 7 styles of women’s heels to fully customize and make your own. With their newly launched Online Design Studio, tons of options for colors and impressive materials (snakeskin, ostrich, crocodile, and leopard fur to name a few) are available for your shoes! There are even options to add straps and buckles. Want to design a shoe line for your boutique or need something else for your potential masterpiece? Atelier will work with you to make it happen. Design your own Vans shoes by choosing from the slip-on, old skool, era, or (newly added) the 106-style shoes to customize! There are mens, womens, boys, youth, and even toddler-sized shoes. Choose from many different colors and patterns to truly create your very own. Vans’ new custom chat & share functions allow friends to collaborate and inspire each other online in their unique designs. It’s pretty awesome in that you can make your shoe and then using their share feature, text or email it to your buddy for his/her say. Prices range from $45 to $70.

Reebok’s customizing options are some of the best and I especially like the view of someone wearing the designed shoe (it helped me decide which designs looked the best). Check out the Classic Leather Low shoes: they can be made to look very fashionable for most casual situations. Also, if you’re crazy about an MLB, NHL, or NFL team, make your buddies jealous by adding a team emblem to your shoes!
MES Custom Footwear is a company out of England that enable you to make your own sneakers. They have 10 unique styles of kicks to start you off on your creation. After that, you can click on different parts of your shoe and make decisions on colors. Or… and this is the best part about MES: you can upload your own pictures and slap them right on your pair of shoes! As of right now (since Zazzle is on a break from offering shoes), this is the only place on the web where you can add pictures onto sneakers.
